Prezzi Express is based in Perth, Western Australia. We deliver our gifts to anywhere in Australia. We can also send parcels overseas, for a small extra cost. The prices you see INCLUDE postage within Australia, so there are no nasty surprises at the check-out.

Like most Australians, the people at Prezzi Express have done a fair bit of travel. But unlike the average tourist, we don’t spend hours going from one tourist site to the next (although that’s also fun). We scour the markets, shopping precincts and back alleyways of the world to find products that make us feel, and look, amazing.

Ethical shopping… glamour without the guilt

However, we want to make sure that what we buy is not all image and no substance. Too often, we find that so-called ‘luxury’ products that are designed in Europe, Australia or the US are actually made in developing countries. That’s fine, as long as the company can assure us that conditions at the factory comply with international standards in regards to child labour, health and safety. This recent newspaper article about a large UK fashion company using child labour illustrates the problem. We find that many companies simply send their designs overseas to be manufactured at the lowest possible cost, without really knowing who’s making the products and what conditions they’re working in.

Outsourcing cuts costs for companies and consumers, but there can be a sinister side. Anti-Slavery International estimates that, worldwide, up to 27 million adults and children are the victims of human trafficking and debt bonded slavery. Most are in Asia and India and many work in factories and workshops in the consumer chain (eg packaging, parts and product manufacturing). Consumers hold the key to reducing the problem. We can stop buying from companies that don’t know, or care, how their products are made.

Where are our products made?

Most of the products you’ll see on Prezzi Express are made in Europe, Australia and the US. We also have fair-trade products from places such as South Africa, India and Nepal. A few products are made in China, however the designers make sure that working conditions are good at the workshops or factories.

The common thread with all Prezzi Express products? They all come from small companies. All the designers are passionate about what they’re making and we believe that dedication shows in the quality.
